Iotamem4Win

I have been collecting islands since around 1993. I got my first award in 1995 and from that time on I used the IOTAmem DOS-Program to claim my new islands. I always missed the feature to print out some information from the program.

So I decided to write a small program for the following reasons:

The result of this effort is shown in a few screenshots. This is the first release of the program.

1) START WINDOW

2) DISPLAY OF APPROVED AF REFERENCES WINDOW

3) EDIT MODE WINDOW

4) DISPLAY SELECTION FOR GROUPS

5) CONTINENTAL SUMMARY

6) GROUP SUMMARY

7) REPORT SELECTION (GROUP) FOR PRININTG

8) REPORT SELECTION (CONTINENTAL) FOR PRININTG

9) PRINT PREVIEW OF SUMMARY

10) PRINT PREVIEW OF AF (approved)

11) DATABASE UPDATE VIA INTERNET

12) ... THROUGH WWW.DF1ZN.DE

Since the program is no longer available on the RSGB IOTA website you may download it from here:

-----------------> Setup file for version 1.4 (8 MByte) <--------------------------------------

To update to version 1.5 download the following ZIP file and unzip the files
into the IOTAMEM4WIN folder:

UPDATE 1.4 -> 1.5

Please let me know if you find any bugs or if you have suggestions for further improvements (df1zn).

Database Update

You may have noticed that the number of islands counting for the IOTA award has grown. Although I allocated some space for new references at least for the Oceania reference numbers the database will run out of space when the new ones will loose their provisonal status. Therefore I had to add some space to the database.

Here is the good news: You don't need a program update. If you replace your database files in the /data directory of the Iotamem4Win program directory with the files in the zip file your new database is capable of handling the new reference numbers and some more to come.

And here is the bad news: You will loose almost all information in your database. The best thing to do is to update the database and then import your newest checkpoint file (call.mbr). You may wait until your next claim and do the update before you import the mbr file.

You will also loose all entries in the comment field (sorry for that!).

An option is that you only replace the IOTA-OC.db file and do a re-import afterwards. You would then only loose the comments in the OC table.

To perform the update:

  1. Download the new database files from here: database_update.zip

  2. If you want make a backup of the files from the /data directory (IOTA-AF.db, IOTA-AN.db,
    IOTA-AS.db, IOTA-EU.db, IOTA-NA.db, IOTA-OC.db, IOTA-SA.db).

  3. Unzip the file you downloaded to the /data directory and overwrite the old files.

  4. Start the Iotamem4Win program and import your last mbr file.

After you installed the program and performed the database update you may update your database through

the menu point 6 (Update Database -> ... via Internet). Then enter the

following URL :

I'll try to keep this file up-to-date.

Program Update to import HQ CSV File

Here is the latest and probably the last program update. Although the program can not be used longer to apply for IOTA credits the program may be used to track your IOTA score. As a registered user you can download your list of approved islands from the RSGB server. The format of this file is a comma delimited text file (myqsos.csv).

With the new version 1.6 of Iotamem4Win you may import this file. The date and time entries are omitted and the only things that are imported are callsign and status of the IOTA credits.

To update to version 1.6 download the following ZIP file and unzip the files
into the IOTAMEM4WIN folder:

UPDATE 1.5 -> 1.6

13) New menu entry <7 HQ Import> via "myqsos.csv"
